Part of the Argo series of sounding rockets,
the Journeyman (Argo D-8) was one of
several sounding rockets developed by the
Goddard Sounding Rocket branch of
Aerolab Development Co, pre-dating NASA.
Helping NASA gather radiation data before
the Mercury flights, this short lived family
helped the US prepare for putting man in
space for the first time.
Assembled from off-the-shelf military
hardware, the Journeyman is a 5-stage
rocket consisting of 2 side mounted Thiocol
XM-19 Recruit motors, a Thiokol TX 206
Sergeant, 2 Grand Central Lance rockets
and an ABL X-246-A6 Altair.

An exciting addition to the FlisKits 2011 line
and a must have for your fleet, this 1:16
(approx scale)  Journeyman is a fun, easy to
build sport scale version of this historic
vehicle.  Featuring balsa nose cones, a
detailed balsa lower adapter, accurately
scaled Recruit motors and water slide
decals, this model is sure to attract attention
at any launch!

First flown at a CMASS launch in 2009, this
is one of those models that has been in the
design phase for years, just waiting for the
right opportunity for release.  The FlisKits
9th anniversary event was just such an
opportunity!
