| Celebrate 50 years of Soviet domination of the World!… okay… maybe not. So what if the old Soviet Union mo longer exists, you can still commemorate the rocket that started the space race 50 years ago. That’s right, buy it NOW and build it in time to launch it on October 4th, the same day that the R-7 booster launched into orbit Sputnik 1 exactly 50 years ago. This Dr. Zooch flying model rocket kit may look like a stripped down version of our popular R-7 Luna because- that’s exactly what it is… because that’ s pretty much what Sputnik was- an early R-7 booster with a little satellite in its nose. Later the R-7 was given a second stage and launched the Luna. See, it all works out. Anyhow this model rocket stands 11" tall, has a fin-span of 5" and a basic empty weight of 1.62 oz. It is a kit requiring full assembly. The kit contains everything you need except building tools, paint and glue.It flies on a B or C engine that you must obtain separately at a local hobby of craft store. The display stand seen in the pictures is not included in the kit. Flight of over 800 feet can be obtained. It recovers by parachute and may be flown time and again. |
