The Juno II, NASA's most unsuccessful space booster! Yes,
only 4 out of 10 of these were actually called successes- so if
you get more than 4 successful flights on yours you’ll be
doing better than NASA did! This is an easy-build kit and
VERY high flyer. It is another in our growing line of No-arc
kits… meaning that during a C6-7’s seven second delay, the
rocket does not arc over… it just keeps going up and up…
to more than 1,300 feet at more than 330 feet per second!
The sleek FlameFins add extra realism to the look of the
rocket and also serve to annoy the few people in rocketry
who don’t like FlameFins. This kit is based on a T-55 tube,
stands 16.5 inches tall with a fin span of just over 2.8 inches
and an empty weight of 1.59 oz. It uses 18 mm engines and
is flight tested on all Estes 18 mm motors. We did not try an
18 mm D engine… because we actually needed to get the
rocket back so we could fly it again.
